Baby Alpaca

Baby Alpaca

The alpacas are one of the most beautiful South American camelids. Related to the llamas, guanacos and vicuñas, the alpacas have been valued for its fiber since the pre-inca time due to the properties and the quality of your hair.

The alpacas are bred in altitudes that range from 3.500 meters to more than 4.500 meters above sea level, where they naturally can withstand temperatures ranging from -20ºC to 30ºC in a single day, surviving with a special low protein diet based on natural pastures

The alpaca is a silky, soft and durable fiber that has unique thermal properties due to the microscopic air bags inside. These microscopic bags allow the animal to breathe through the fibers in warm days, and in the same way retain body heat at low temperatures. It is also a non-flammable and elastic fiber
